Sainik Welfare

INTRODUCTION :

Zilla Sainik Welfare Office, Chittoor is functioning under the administrative control of the Director, Sainik Welfare, Vijayawada and the Department of Sainik Welfare comes under the purview of Home Department.

AIM :

The Zilla Sainik Welfare Office is aimed to look after various welfare activities of Ex. Servicemen and their families of the district.

FUNERAL GRANTS :

Funeral grant is sanctioned by the Director, Sainik Welfare on initiation by this office to the Next of Kin of Ex.servicemen on demise of Ex.servicemen/widows of ex.serviceman/Children of Ex.Servicemen @ Rs.5,000/-, Rs.3,500/- and Rs.2,500/- respectively.

MONTHLY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE GRANTS :

Monthly grant is sanctioned by the Director, Sainik Welfare on initiation by this office to the Ex.servicemen/widows of ex.servieman who are in penury @ Rs.400/- p.m. for one year for Five Times.

MARRIAGE GRANTS :

Marriage grants are sanctioned by the Director, Sainik Welfare on initiation by this office to the Daughter of Ex.servicemen @ Rs.4000/-.

EDUCATION GRANTS :

Education grants are sanctioned by the Director, Sainik Welfare on initiation by this office to the Children of Ex.Servicemen for Intermediate, Degree and Post Graduate Courses @ Rs.2,250/-, Rs.3,000/- and Rs.4,000/- respectively.

100% DISABLED CHILDREN OF EX.SERVICEN GRANTS :

100% Disabled Children of Ex.Servicemen Grants are sanctioned by the Director, Sainik Welfare on initiation by this office to the Disabled children (100%) of ex.servicemen @ Rs.1000/- p.m. for life.

ORPHAN GRANTS :

Orphan grants are sanctioned by the Director, Sainik Welfare on initiation by this office to the orphan children of Ex.Servicemen @ Rs.1,000/- p.m. upto age of 25 yrs.

RAKSHA MANTRI DISCRETIONARY FUND GRANTS :

Education Grant @ Rs.1,000/- p.m. per child ( maximum up to two children), Orphan Grant, 100% disabled Children Grant , Penury Grant etc., are sanctioned by the K.S.B., New Delhi on initiation by this office to the wards of ex.servicemen for education grant through online.

PM SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME :

Under this scheme Kendriya Sainik Board, New Delhi sanctions Scholarship to children of Ex.Servicemen who are pursuing professional courses @ Rs.30,000/- p.a. to Boy students and @ Rs.36,000/- p.a. to Girl students.

VERIFICATIONS :

Record Offices/Units are referred the cases of service personnel for verification of facts like change of home address and discharge on compassionate grounds.

FAMILY PENSION :

Applications in respect of Widows of Ex-serviceman, Orphan Children of minor children and Parents of soldier died while in service have been initiated by this office to the concerned Record Offices.

DEPENDENT CERTIFICATES :

Children of Ex.servicemen are issued Children of Armed Forces Personnel (CAP) certificates for seeking admission in various courses like EAMCET, E.CET, B.Ed., T.T.C., PGCET under CAP reservation.
